NT charts usually having the prefix letter B before the area number, e.g M-EW-Bxxx cannot be used for updates anymore.
NT+ charts usually having the prefix letter C before the area number, e.g M-EW-Cxxx can still be updated, but the latest and final release is version 50 which is dated October 2018
C-MAP Chart Card update or exchange procedure
1) Select the Chart Card Area Required
Chart area update, i.e. like for like area, then the Chart Card Area to choose will be the same as your original Chart Card Area, which could be either Local, Wide, MegaWide or Continental, unless of course your old area has been discontinued or modified, which we will advise about if need be.
Chart area exchange, select the appropriate new area size which could be either Local, Wide, MegaWide or Continental depending on coverage around your new sailing area. If you are not sure about this please get in touch
2) Select the required Chart Card Type that you require
If it is simply a Chart Area Update then the card type will be the same. But if you have a new Chart Plotter that takes a differnet Chart Card Format to your original Chart Card, then select the appropriate Chart Card Format as required to fit your new Chart Plotter

C-Card MAX (Orange)
C-Card NT+ (Black)

3) The appropriate cost will now be shown for your selected chart update of exchange ready to place the item in your shopping basket
4) Send you original Chart Card to us
Please let us know either by e-mail, phone or note as to whether you require a chart update or exchange. If it is an exchange then we need to know the new chart area code and your new chart plotter make and model to be sure you have ordered the correct chart card format.
We recommend using a tracked and insured form of post or courier service. Please pack the chart securely and not simply in a basic letter envelope. In the past we've had envelopes arrive in the post without chart cards which have been ripped out and eaten by the postal sorting machines and lost forever!
Appreciably you will understand we cannot offer updates or exchanges if your original chart card does not arrive with us.

5) Order Processing & Warranty
Your original chart card must be in working condition to be able to be updated or exchanged, if it is not in a serviceable condition when we insert it in our chart programmer we will advise accordingly.
In most instances you will receive the updated or exchanged area chart area back on the same chart card that you sent to us. The returned chart card is guaranteed by C-MAP for 12 months from the invoice date.
In the unlikely event of a warranty issue faulty chart cards are usually returned to C-MAP in Italy for attention at customers cost. C-MAP will then usually return a servicable chart card directly to the customers address, carriage paid.
If a different chart card format or chart card memory size is required as part of the update or exchange process, this is included in the price.
